The Kathina Ceremony originated in the Buddha Time because the Lord Buddha saw the importance of changing the monks’ old saffron robes so he gave the permission that each monk could change his old saffron robe. Then, it becomes the tradition that has been done for over 2,000 years.

The Kathina Ceremony is more special than the other ones because there are many restrictions to do such as this ceremony must be arranged within one month after the end of the Buddhist Lent, etc.
